Unless otherwise stated, technical support information is based on the latest version of software. Earlier versions may vary. The latest version of all 3 toolkits is dated December 2010. If you have a previous version, please contact Qudos for an update.

Compatibility

The Quality, Safety and Enviro Manager toolkits all use a browser interface to access resources - such as sample documents in MS Office formats. As with all 'web' applications, their performance may be affected by browser settings, and other security and content management software installed on your computer. They should be suitably configured to allow normal functionality. Your browser's pop-up blocker should be set to allow pop-ups from the application's URL.

Windows compatibility
There are no known MS Windows 98, 2000, XP, or Vista compatibility issues.

Browser compatibility
While primarily designed for compatibility with MS Internet Explorer 6,7, and 8, Quality Manager and Safety Manager are compatible with most modern Windows browsers. In the event of difficulty displaying any of the html pages, registered users should contact us by sending a Tech support request. Please include details of the brand and version of your browser.

MS Office compatibility
There are no known compatibility issues with MS Office 2000-2010. The sample documents included in the toolkits are generally in Office 97-2003 format to achieve maximum compatibility. On opening a sample document for the first time with a later version of MS Word or Office you may be prompted to convert the file. If prompted, select the option to convert the file. Many items in this help file refer to commands and facilities to be used in Microsoft Word / Office applications. These may not be applicable in all versions of Microsoft Word / Office, and/or the necessary functionality may not have been installed by default. If in doubt, refer to the 'Help' file in your Microsoft Office application.

Users of MS Word / Office 2007/2010 should be aware that sample documents edited and then saved using those applications with their default file extensions may not be accessible to users of earlier versions of those applications. For example, our sample procedures have file extensions of '.doc'. If a file is edited in MS Word 2007/2010 and saved in its native format with file extension of '.docx', a colleague with MS Word 2003 would not normally be able to subsequently open that file. However, there are ways to overcome this issue: The edited file could be saved in Word 97-2003 format, or the colleague may be able to obtain a viewer for files in the more advanced format. The toolkits have their own Help files that provide general guidance. Most technical issues will relate to your browser settings and MS Office, and reference may be made to their Help files.
