The Problems...

All compliance management standards have requirements for training people to help ensure their competence and awareness. Competency may be broken down into four aspects:
  1. Task skills - to perform a task
  2. Task Management skills - to manage a number of tasks within a job or project
  3. Contingency skills - to deal with an exception to the norm
  4. Job environment skills - to deal with the expectations of the job and its environment (including working relationships with others)

Training may also focus on ensuring that people have adequate awareness of hazards and risks, applicable legislation, their responsibilities and other aspects of the organisation and their role in it.

One area that should not be overlooked is the provision of training for those responsible for establishing, maintaining and operating your management system itself. Specific training is likely to be needed for certain people e.g. Compliance, Environmental, Quality or OHS Managers, Safety Reps/Officers, and Internal Auditors.

Qudos 3 helps you effectively develop and manage your organisation's most valuable resource - its' people.

To help maintain and improve levels of competency, the People module includes Individual Development Plans to set out a path for each employee, plan and track progress. You may also set objectives, standards, and criteria for assessment ratings. Plans may be electronically signed off by the employee, and their line managers.

Action plans may be checked for compatibility with listed Objectives for the respective business unit and the organisation as a whole. They may be linked to the desired achievement of what has been identified as a Core Skill.

Qudos 3 includes powerful facilities to schedule and record training. As you create records of training sessions and attendance details, a training matrix develops. This offers many options for querying and displaying:

  • Individual training records
  • Who has attended a particular course
  • Training delivered over time and expenditure
  • Refresher reports
  • Skills gained over a period of time
