System Requirements
Qudos 3 can run on your own server - or 'in the cloud' using ours. Secure password-controlled access is via a standard Internet Explorer browser. This greatly increases flexibility of use (you may let people access it from home or other remote locations), and reduces the burden on your IT personnel for installations and updates. System requirements for a self-hosted installation are as follows:
Client side
- Computer with keyboard, mouse and monitor with min. resolution of 1024x760
- Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9 (if not already in place, this is available as a free download)
- Microsoft Word (or compatible alternative), and other MS Office applications required for viewing/editing sample documents
- Acrobat reader required for PDF guide books
Any 3rd party toolbars, security software and content management software in use should be suitably configured to allow normal functionality. This may require listing the software installation as a 'trusted site', and/or other measures.
Communications:Broadband connection to server - 1.5 Mbps or higher speed recommended.
Server side:The following items are only required for self-hosted installations. For Qudos hosted options, we take care of all server-side requirements.
- Server running MS Windows Server 2003 or later
- IIS 6 or above
- MS SQL Server 2005 or later
- SMTP mail server
- Microsoft Dotnet framework 3.5 (included on product DVD or available as a free download)
- Business Objects Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 (included on product DVD or available as a free download)
- 200MB free space for application files, database and system documents
- Additional free space as required for client data and stored documents
There are alternative options to some of these server-side requirements. Contact Qudos Technical Support for more information.
As an alternative to an installation on your server, we can host Qudos 3 for you. See Hosting and Leasing options
