Setting objectives and achieving them
The Problems...
One of the key steps in achieving continuous improvement is to set objectives, and put programmes in place to achieve them. Management system standards recognise this and all specifically require suitable arrangements to be in place.
While business owners and senior managers may periodically decide on objectives for their organisation, these are typically not in a structured framework, and often exclude the compliance management system.
The result is that objectives may not be SMART (this acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timed is a useful guide when setting objectives). A lack of structure may lead to focus being lost and well-intentioned objectives falling by the wayside - just like new years resolutions!.
The Solution...
Qudos 3 has a dedicated Objectives module that enables you to set, manage and monitor objectives at various organizational levels - combining the requirements of formal management systems with the real business planning process.
Your Objectives are logged in one central location, and this Objectives Register may be filtered on the basis of applicable business unit, location, subject and other criteria.
Objectives are allocated to responsible people and may be prioritised. Each objective may be used to generate up to 100 separately assigned and tracked action tasks.
These tools will help you put your organisation on the path of working towards smart objectives.
