Social Media Policy - Word documents
In recent years, there has been an explosion in what has become known as social media - Interactive web sites such as myspace, twitter and facebook. While these can offer big opportunities for business, there can also be pitfalls. New rules and expectations apply. A company that is perceived to be 'doing the wrong thing' can quickly be the target of a huge amount of adverse publicity. Just as organisations began introducing policies regarding use of email and the Internet some years ago, if you have employees that participate in social media, now may be the time to start thinking of a policy.
We originally created a conservative example to get you thinking. This has caused a great deal of interest, and we can now offer some great alternative versions thanks to contributions by Adam Franklin of web strategy specialists Bluewire Media and Vivienne Storey of social media lawyers Blands Law. Perhaps one of these examples might be a good starting point for your own policy / guidelines.

Cause and effect analysis
Fishbone or Cause and Effect diagram (DOC)
Fishbone or Cause and Effect diagram (XLS)
Cause and Effect analysis can be greatly assisted by using a diagram in the shape of a fish skeleton. This diagram has the stated problem as the head, and helps the user to trace problems back to originating or root causes through the bone structure. It is otherwise known as the Ishikawa diagram (after its originator Kaoru Ishikawa - one of the founding fathers of quality management). Templates are provided here in Microsoft Excel and Word formats. They are examples of the templates included in the Quality Manager toolkit.
